KENTI WATER QUALITY · test version 0.2
======================================

Compares water analyses with the guideline values of several regulatory
frameworks and states, for each sample, what complies, what exceeds and what
could not be assessed. No parameter is mandatory: whatever was not measured
is never invented; it is listed as missing and appears in the caveats.

The interface is available in Spanish and English (ES / EN buttons at the top
right). Switching changes texts, parameter and standard names, the exported
Excel file and number formatting; your data do not change. Tables with
English or Spanish headers are recognised in either language.

How to open it
--------------
1. Unzip this .zip into any folder (do not run it from inside the zip).
2. Double-click "Kenti Calidad de Agua.exe". It opens in its own window.

The first time, Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" because the
program is not digitally signed yet. Click "More info" → "Run anyway".
Requirements: Windows 10 or 11 with Edge or Chrome.

The seven tabs
--------------
1. DATA. "Example table" loads a fictitious report to explore the program;
"Clear table" empties it (can be undone). "Paste table…" accepts samples in
rows or the laboratory report layout (parameters in rows, samples in
columns), with units in the header, in a row or in a separate column, and a
   detection-limit column. It reads "<0.005", "ND", "n/a", "Absent", ">2400".
Each column declares its unit and, where relevant, the form (nitrate as NO3
or as N) and the fraction (total or dissolved).
2. REGULATORY ASSESSMENT. Choose the use (drinking water, source for drinking
water, aquatic life, water body, irrigation, livestock, industrial) and the
standards. Summary by sample and standard, detail by sample or by
standard, caveats and a draft paragraph for the report.
3. WQI. CCME water quality index with the objectives of the standard you
choose. Works with any set of parameters and reports how many it used.
4. IONS AND DERIVED. Ion balance, facies, calculated hardness, SAR, Riverside
class, FAO infiltration, Langelier and Ryznar (industrial use) and the WHO
   and EU nitrate/50 + nitrite/3 rule.
5. CONVERTER. mg/L, µg/L, ppm, ppb, mg/kg, mol/L, mmol/L, mol/kg (molal),
   meq/L, µS/cm, mS/cm, dS/m, resistivity, °C, °F, K, °f, °dH, CFU/mL,
CFU/100 mL and others. The table columns use the same conversions.
6. CHECKS. Doubtful units, unreadable values, ion balance, TDS/EC, dissolved
greater than total and more. It warns, it does not correct.
7. STANDARDS AND CRITERIA. All values with their scale and citation, and a
"custom standard" for a client's or a local authority's limits.

Standards included
------------------
Argentina: Food Code (CAA) Art. 982 (Joint Res. 33/2023); Law 24.051,
Decree 831/93 Annex II Tables 1, 2, 5 and 6; Law 24.585 Annex IV (same
  values, mining framework).
International: WHO 2022; Directive (EU) 2020/2184; US EPA (primary and
secondary); CCME (Canada) and ANZG (Australia and New Zealand) for
  livestock; FAO 29 for irrigation.
Japan: drinking water (52 items, 2026), environmental quality standards
(human health, rivers by class AA to E, biota) and paddy rice irrigation.
River classes C, D and E are those suitable for industrial water classes
  1, 2 and 3.
Industrial use: there is no general legal guideline value; Langelier, Ryznar
and the custom standard are provided.

Good to know
------------
- Without density, ppm, mg/kg and mol/kg are converted to mg/L with 1 g/mL.
For brines, enter the density (column "Density (g/mL)"): the difference
  can exceed 10%.
- Table 6 of Decree 831/93 prints 50 µg/L of zinc for livestock; the source
it cites sets 50 mg/L. Kenti uses the printed value and flags it.
- The CAA fluoride limit depends on the site's mean annual temperature:
enter it under "Sites". Without it, 1.5 mg/L is used and a caveat is shown.
